I had the starter rebuilt about 1 1/2 years ago by a starter shop. I know they put new bushings and brushes in it along with other parts. It worked find until I rebuilt the engine. I don't have that many miles on the engine since the rebuild and I keep thinking with the better compression and everything being tight that its just harder to swing over. But if that's not the case and the starter is weak, I can't see putting more money into an old starter. Having the original starter doesn't matter to me. I was just looking for something that works.Terry
