A view of the Liverpool skyline taken aboard the ferry The Snowdrop while sailing across the Mersey. Local legend says the birds a top the Liver Building are a male and female pair; the female looking out to sea watching for the seamen to return safely home while the male looks towards the city to watch over and protect the families of the seamen and making sure the pubs are open. Another legend says that, whenever a genuine female virgin or honest man passes by the Liver Buildings, the Liver Birds will flap their great wings.
